And in this beatless variant the same holds true, this is not so much ambient as it is funckient… Many are hailing this album as their “first ambient”, but those of us who follow the bros know that the dif:use sessions exist. Much like in those deep drifts I experience Psar Dymog at its core as a beautiful, indescribable madness, a mastery of free form sound manipulation that takes the psyche into worlds so wide and deep that a solid umbilical back to dimension 3 should be kept close at hand. I will be upfront: for a psychedelic researcher this is as good as any alkaloid, maybe even better in my frizzled age of 33… If you know the deal then this album can be a portal into landscapes only seasoned pickles should attempt to navigate. Psar Dymog is built on beat free recyclings of past karma, and i was very excited to see the album wrap up with the gem dredge finding another face… There is absolutely no point in me sitting here and subjecting you to my opinions on each track, or define how my little reality tunnel summed it up as a whole. I couldn’t do that, for as an experience the album keeps shifting my gears into new velocities every time I listen. I can only hope that listeners with a discerning ear find their way to letting this work take them on their own journey. A journey that would require one to have cement in the ears to not experience the funck. This is not the top 40. This is advanced audio design for the travelers.
