Title: How to Upload An EP or Album
Post by: aiwazz on May 16, 2009, 05:08:03 AM
To upload an album you wrote just click Upload button up top and then select album.

The procedure for uploading an album is pretty painless and quick, but nonetheless, there are some guidelines you must follow for it to work.

Here is how it happens. You select all your id3 tagged mp3 files, any images, other associated files and an optional graphic that goes with your player wherever you embed it outside of mdp. The uploader will automatically write a playlist file for your audio by sorting the mp3's according to their id3 track # data. It will use the id3 tag title area for the playlist display in the player. It will create an html page so your album can be played as a popup while users browse the site. It will also bundle all the files you upload into a zip file named from the id3 data in this format: Artist-Album (Year). Upon completion it will present you with ready to go forum code you must copy and paste into the post area below the uploader. Add whatever other data you feel the muse for and submit! Wait... Dont forget to select your license below the post area before you do submit. ;)

IMPORTANT:

  • Your files must be mp3, any bitrate, 44,100 hz.
  • To add an image for the player itself it must be a 500 pixel wide by 215 pixel high jpg and be named EXACTLY: player.jpg
  • The files MUST have id3 tags, or do not upload please, the whole system works on them.
  • These id3 tags must be filled: track number, title, album, artist, year.
  • You must manually copy the code the uploader frame produces when upload is complete and paste it in the post you are writing before submitting.
  • Your player is share enabled and clicking any of the share icons below it will embed it on any of the social sites you select.

Short and Sweet:

Prep all your files by id3 tagging them with album, artist, track #, title and year at least. Create a jpg image for your player that is 500x215 and name it player.jpg. Include it in your upload. Insert code when upload is complete from uploader frame to post. Select creative commons license. Enjoy!
